EU Sends Ukraine First Installment of €90 Billion Package: €3.2 Billion Now in State Budget.
European Union Financial Assistance to Ukraine
According to UATV: The European Union is providing Ukraine with €90 billion in aid over two years. The first tranche, amounting to €3.2 billion, is being disbursed today, June 25. This financial support marks a crucial step in rebuilding a country that has suffered extensive damage during the ongoing war. Since Russia's full-scale invasion began, the EU and its member states have contributed roughly €200 billion in combined military and economic assistance to Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials are optimistic that this latest funding will further bolster both the nation's economic resilience and its defense capabilities.
'Today we are transferring the first tranche of the €90 billion loan. This amounts to €3.2 billion in macro-financial assistance,' stated European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Ukraine Recovery Conference
The Ukraine Recovery Conference is taking place in Gdańsk, with over 5,000 participants expected to attend. More than 20 projects are slated to be signed during the event, advancing strategies for rebuilding and modernizing Ukraine's infrastructure.
'The funds have already been deposited into the state budget and will be used to strengthen defense capabilities and social resilience,' emphasized First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
This EU financial aid represents a significant milestone in Ukraine's struggle to recover from the protracted war. The genuine support of the international community, channeled through conferences and concrete projects, aims not only at economic recovery but also at ensuring regional stability. Future actions by the European Union could profoundly impact the restoration of infrastructure and the reinforcement of Ukraine's defense capacities—priorities that remain critical under current conditions.
