A Mouse Once Again Caught at Old Trafford During a Match: Fans Are Shocked

According to The Sun: A problem with rats has once again arisen at Old Trafford stadium. One Sunderland fan captured the moment another attendee caught a live mouse during the match against Manchester United.

The Sunderland fan accompanied her social media post with a photo of the mouse, which was caught in a large plastic cup.

In her post, she wrote:

“How dirty is Old Trafford??
“The woman behind just caught a mouse in the visitors' section at Old Trafford…”
“I’m done with things I haven’t seen at a match.”

Other fans actively discussed this on social media. One fan commented: “No way. Even nature is mocking.”

Meanwhile, the club was sent a request for comments regarding this situation.

In the match, United secured a much-needed victory of 2:0 against league newcomer Sunderland, thanks to goals from Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko in the first half.

Additionally, goalkeeper Senne Lammens also exhibited excellent play, contributing to the team’s first 'clean' match of the season.

Unfortunately, Old Trafford is not unfamiliar with such uninvited guests. Earlier, in February of this year, a mouse was spotted during a match against Ipswich.

At that time, one of the stadium staff carried the mouse outside.

Hygiene inspectors confirmed the presence of rodents during a visit to Old Trafford in December, when mouse droppings were discovered in the stadium's cafeteria. This led to a drop in hygiene rating from four to two stars.

Researchers believe the source of the rodent problem is related to the strategic location of the stadium between the railway line and the canal.

After the arrival of new owners Ineos, Manchester United announced plans to build a new 100,000-seat stadium for 2 billion pounds, referred to as 'Wembley of the North'. However, these plans recently faced difficulties as the landowner where the club wanted to build the new facility demanded over 400 million pounds – significantly exceeding the club's valuation of 50 million.

Ruben Amorim's team plans a trip to Anfield to meet Liverpool after the international break, hoping to turn their game around and secure a consecutive victory for the first time under the Portuguese coach.

The team's poor form has led one fan to decide not to cut his hair until the team wins five consecutive matches, celebrating the anniversary of his challenge on October 5.

What We Know About the 'New' Old Trafford

MANCHESTER UNITED plans to build a new stadium rather than renovate Old Trafford.

The decision was made after a series of fact-finding missions to other stadiums, including Bernabeu and Camp Nou.

The project's cost is expected to be an astounding 2 billion pounds.

The stadium is expected to accommodate 100,000 spectators.

A club of such stature as United requires a new modern facility.

The new stadium is planned to be built on plots near the current home of the 'Red Devils'.

United aims not only to build a stadium but also to improve the Trafford area where it is located.

Earlier, there were plans to preserve Old Trafford rather than demolish it and use it as a second, smaller-capacity stadium.

However, it is increasingly unlikely that the stadium will remain in its original form.

The club conducted a survey among 30,000 fans, and opinions were almost evenly split: some want to keep the stadium, while others want to move forward.

The club has invited architects Foster + Partners to develop a 'master plan'. This firm was involved in the design of Wembley Stadium.

Old Trafford has been home to United since 1910.

The completion deadline for construction is set for 2030.
