European Sleep Index 2026 Study Released

According to TSN.ua: A major study, the European Sleep Index 2026, has ranked the sleep quality in 25 of Europe's largest cities. The analysis considered a range of environmental and behavioral factors that impact how well residents sleep in these urban centers.

The Best and Worst Cities for a Good Night's Rest

The cities identified as having the most problematic conditions for sleep are:

  • Prague
  • Warsaw
  • Barcelona

These cities received low scores, indicating poor conditions for restful sleep. Despite its global appeal, London also performed poorly, ranking 20th out of 25 with a score of just 36.12 out of a possible 70 points.

In stark contrast, Zurich was ranked as the best city for sleep. Other top-performing cities included:

  • Amsterdam
  • Stockholm

These findings highlight the critical role that environmental and lifestyle factors play in public health and quality of life across Europe's major metropolitan areas. Sleep quality is increasingly recognized as a vital public health metric, with noise and light pollution being common urban disruptors.

The study's data underscores the importance of sleep quality as a key component of overall population health, particularly in modern cities where environmental issues can significantly impact well-being. The results may encourage city authorities to implement policies aimed at improving sleep conditions, which could, in turn, have a positive effect on residents' health and productivity.
