According to The Sun: A group of thieves broke into the home of former Everton and Swansea manager Roberto Martinez in Portugal, while his Scottish wife Beth Thompson was out. They stole designer watches and jewelry worth up to £700,000.

The incident occurred while the Spanish coach, who currently leads the national team of Portugal, was absent with his partner for four hours on Saturday afternoon.

The criminals are believed to have smashed a window to gain access to the luxury property in the elite area of Cascais, west of Lisbon.

Authorities believe the thieves were aware of the couple's absence and thoroughly searched every room, ensuring they had enough time to disappear without a trace.

Investigators have already searched the house in Cascais for evidence.

The Portuguese police PSP, which is investigating the burglary, is focusing on the theory that the attack was carried out by a foreign gang specializing in robberies of luxury residences.

The number of stolen items has not yet been disclosed.

The national broadcaster SIC reports that the value of the stolen watches and jewelry is around £87,000, but the reputable publication Correio da Manha claims that Martinez and his wife estimate the value of the stolen valuables at around £700,000.

52-year-old Martinez played for teams such as Wigan, Motherwell, and Chester City before becoming the coach of several English clubs, including Everton and Welsh team Swansea. At this moment he has not made any official comments.
