Boxing for Charity: David Bentley Prepares for Fight with Jody Morris

According to The Sun: David Bentley has left behind a luxurious life in Marbella to train intensively for his upcoming fight with Jody Morris, a former player and manager of Chelsea.

The title fight will take place next Saturday at the Grosvenor Hotel in Mayfair.

Graham Stack, a former Arsenal goalkeeper, is organizing this charity boxing event. He remarked that gathering Bentley was not easy due to his lifestyle.

“I was amazed. I asked Bentley, and he said: 'Yes, I agree.' He replied: 'No problem',” Stack said.

Stack also noted that after agreeing, he couldn't reach Bentley, who was enjoying his vacation in Marbella.

“I found out that he was on a yacht in Marbella and thought he would let me down,” he added.

In the past, Bentley played football until he was 29 and is now a co-owner of a bar in Marbella. He is being trained by former professional boxer Kevin Mitchell.

Bentley admitted that his younger daughter is worried about the fight, but his wife Kimberley is happy to see her 41-year-old husband getting back into shape.

“My little one was a bit crying: ‘You’re not going to box!’ But that’s part of life,” he said.

Bentley also noted that he is primarily trying to get back into shape.

Fight for Honorary Titles

Bentley also pointed out his opponent:

“He will bring all the old Chelsea team with him,” Bentley remarked.

The fight card will also feature bouts between Curtis Davies and Paddy Kenny, Lera Lito and David Noble, Lee Trundle and Anthony Gardner, as well as Greg Halford and Marvin Elliott.

Stack plans to raise £500,000 to support four charities.
