FA investigates incident with Leeds fans: what happened in the match against Tottenham.
Investigation into Leeds United fans' behavior
According to The Sun: The Football Association (FA) has launched an investigation into the behavior of Leeds United fans during the match against Tottenham that took place on Saturday.
During this tense game, there were two incidents where objects were thrown from the stands at players of the opposing team.
GettyAccording to the Mail, the FA is looking into these incidents, which could lead to serious penalties for the Yorkshire club.
Pedro Porro was the first victim of this incident when a vape was thrown at him during a corner kick.
Fortunately, the player was not injured and even joked, pretending to smoke from the device before continuing the game.
However, the next incident did not pass without excitement: winger Mohammed Kudus narrowly escaped a blow to the head when a bottle flew onto the pitch.
Kudus had just scored the decisive goal in the match and was performing his signature celebration pose, sitting on a chair in front of the home team's fans.
An object flew out of the crowd at high speed, nearly hitting Kudus and his teammates.
Luckily, none of the players were harmed by this incident.
In the end, Thomas Frank's team celebrated victory, and the club took home three points from Elland Road.
They head into the international break in third place in the league, just two points behind their North London rivals Arsenal, who sit at the top spot.
The Sun reached out to the FA for comments.
Thus, the FA's investigation underscores the seriousness of the situation, which could lead to fines for the club, especially in the context of the safety of both players and fans at stadiums. Furthermore, the FA will attempt to clarify the circumstances of the incidents and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
