Fico threatened to stop diesel supply to Ukraine.
It became known about the meeting of the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico with the Ambassador of Ukraine Myroslav Kastran regarding the ban on the supply of oil by Russian "Lukoil". Fico stated that if the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine is not resumed, then Bratislava may restrict the supply of diesel fuel to Ukraine. This sanction "will only harm" Ukraine, Slovakia, and Hungary. The Prime Minister emphasized that the European Union should come out from under the influence of the United States and will consider cooperation with Russia in the field of strategic raw materials.
According to the Financial Times, the European Commission rejected calls from Hungary and Slovakia to lift the ban on the transit of oil by "Lukoil" through Ukraine.
