Ukrenergo attracted 800 million euros in grants: how will this affect tariffs.
Meeting of the NEURC: the importance of funding renewable energy
According to inkorr.com: During the meeting of the NEURC, Ivan Yuriyk, a board member of the NPC 'Ukrenergo', emphasized the importance of realistic forecasts and economic indicators for stable funding of renewable energy. He noted that this sector is affected by currency fluctuations, electricity consumption volumes, and general macroeconomic trends.
“Regarding currency rates, obviously, we have to take the government's assumptions; the euro rate significantly impacts our obligations regarding the PSO and renewable energy,”Yuriyk explained.
Yuriyk also added that the company is actively cooperating with international financial partners and has already managed to attract about 800 million euros in grants since the beginning of the war. These funds helped cover the costs of renewable energy that were supposed to be covered by the market.
The head of the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA), Andriy Konechenkov, expressed the opinion that it is necessary to increase funding for renewable energy to achieve its full provision by 2026.
Both speakers stressed the importance of stable funding and the need for clarification of forecast indicators for the further development of renewable energy in Ukraine.
This meeting emphasizes the relevance of funding and strategic planning issues in the field of renewable energy, especially in wartime conditions. Attracting international grants and active cooperation with partners will be key factors in ensuring stability and development of this vital sector in Ukraine in the coming years.
