However, Mayweather continues to participate in exhibition matches, including against well-known boxers, MMA athletes, and influencers.

His next exhibition fight is scheduled for next year against Mike Tyson – both have already signed a contract for the performance.

Mayweather does not rule out the possibility of returning to professional boxing for the first time in a full decade. In an interview with TMZ Sports, he noted:

“There have been a few conversations. It’s possible. We just don’t know. But right now, everything is going great, and I feel good. I’m working hard every day and can’t wait for 2026.”

The return of Manny Pacquiao and the fight with Tyson

Manny Pacquiao, whom Mayweather defeated in 2015, returned to the ring after six years of absence in July, challenging Mario Barrios for the WBC title in welterweight. The affairs of Pacquiao, 46, and Mayweather, 48, are once again in the spotlight – recent rumors suggest a possible rematch.

Mayweather’s last exhibition fight took place in August 2024 against the grandson of a notorious New York mobster, John Gotti.

Mike Tyson, 59, also returned to the ring in November last year for the first time in 20 years, facing blogger Jake Paul, 28. Tyson lost that fight after eight rounds of two minutes each and is now preparing for a bout with Mayweather in the spring of next year after signing a contract for an exhibition fight.

Tyson, speaking again, told rapper Fat Joe at the Hard Rock Bet VIP event: “I was just doing my thing. I didn’t bother anyone. He just wanted to start a fight.”
Getty Floyd Mayweather is once again in the spotlight as his possible return to professional boxing becomes increasingly real. Negotiations are underway, and if everything goes well, fans may see him back in the ring. At the same time, there is interest in the return of Manny Pacquiao and the planned fight with Mike Tyson, which only adds spice to the boxing world in the coming years.
