Jayden and Reagan Heskey came on as substitutes during City's 2-0 victory over Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Emile Heskey's son Jayden, 19, debuted for Manchester City last night Getty His brother Reagan, 17, also came on as a substitute against Huddersfield Reuters19-year-old Jayden joined Manchester City at the age of eight and signed his first professional contract two years ago. Like his father, he is an attacking player.
The lad also made his mark in the FA Youth League final, scoring in the match against Leeds in May 2024.
Youngest brother Reagan also began his career at City at eight years old. The 17-year-old forward was promoted to the U21 team a year ago and scored a hat-trick in 22 minutes in a PL2 match against Norwich.
Reagan has also played 10 matches for the England U17 youth team.
Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola was delighted to give both brothers the chance to play in the first team. He stated:
“In the starting lineup, there were six players from the academy, and the Heskey brothers came on as substitutes. Their parents will be very proud of their children. Today, there were eight academy players on the field, which is really cool.”id='6379888460112' data-video-id='6379888460112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.6:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>

Jayden and Reagan have much to achieve to surpass their father. Emile Heskey, 47, scored 164 goals at the club level, playing 786 matches for Leicester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Wigan, Aston Villa, Newcastle Jets, and Bolton.
Heskey won four League Cups — it was in this tournament that his sons debuted for City. He also won the FA Cup, Super Cup, UEFA Cup, and UEFA Super Cup with Liverpool.
Emile was a regular player for the England national team, scoring seven goals in 62 matches, and played alongside Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney in three World Cups.
Currently, Heskey works as the Director of Football Development for the Leicester women's team.
The short debut of both brothers in Manchester City's lineup underscores the importance of academies in preparing young talents for professional football. Emile Heskey, as a father and player, can be proud of his sons' achievements as they step into a world where they have much enterprise ahead.Read also
