According to The Sun: Former Premier League player Eljero Ebiya narrowly escaped death during a horrific car crash involving three vehicles.
It is reported that his £270,000 Lamborghini Urus collided with two other vehicles on the major A4 highway near Leiden in the Netherlands.
Regio 15Police reported that no serious injuries occurred, but two drivers were detained for questioning.
Ebiya, 38, was also taken to the police station along with another man for interrogation.
The accident happened around 21:45 on Saturday.
Ebiya's words about the accident
Ebiya told Omreop West about the incident, noting that the car skidded after attempting to brake.
“I was driving on a section that is usually quiet at this time. Suddenly, I saw the cars ahead braking sharply.”
“I tried to brake, but I lost control of the car.”
Ebiya also shared his words spoken during his police interrogation.
“I told them [the police] what happened, and then I went home.”
According to local media, the drivers of the two vehicles involved were also detained for testing.

Police also plan to check whether alcohol may have affected the circumstances of the accident.
Ebiya's Career
Ebiya joined Southampton on loan in January 2015 and played 17 matches for the club, scoring twice.
The team decided not to buy out his contract, and he returned to Werder Bremen.
The player has also played for clubs such as Juventus, Feyenoord, FC Twente, and ADO Den Haag. The Netherlands national team called him up 30 times, and he scored in matches against Scotland and Hungary.
In 2022, Ebiya announced his retirement from football due to an ankle injury.
Ebiya is married to Sanne Ebiya, the owner of the Heavenly Beauty salon. The couple has three children: Heavenly, Sil, and Eljero Dream.
