Apple season is in full swing: how to use the harvest and keep it for a long time.
According to The Sun: Apples are ripening and falling from the branches in orchards and along roadsides. You might also come across generous neighbors or friends who offer fruit for free.

Storing apples: Apples are usually stored in fruit bowls, but they will stay fresh longer in the refrigerator. It is worth remembering that these fruits emit gas that can accelerate the ripening of other products, so it’s better to store them separately.
Tasty dessert: Apple pie or crumble is the perfect autumn dessert. Crumble is slightly quicker to make, making it suitable for children. Here’s a simple recipe: peel and cut three or four apples into pieces.
Place them in a pot with two tablespoons of sugar and two tablespoons of water, and cook until the apples become soft. If you have a lot of apples, you can prepare double or triple the amount and freeze portions.
Transfer the apples to a greased baking dish. Then mix 110g of flour, 40g of brown sugar, 40g of salted butter, and two tablespoons of oats in a bowl until crumbly. Add this mixture to the apples before baking for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
Dried apples: This is a great and healthy snack, perfect for lunch boxes. Simply slice the apples thinly and bake at a low temperature for a few hours. The longer you keep them, the crunchier they will be. Then store in an airtight container.
Juice: You can make delicious juice without a juicer using apples. For this, cut and remove the seeds from three or four apples. Boil them with 120ml of water until they are soft.
Place a sieve with cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the cooled mixture through, pressing it to collect the juice. Optionally, add honey or lemon juice to taste.
