Scandal with French biathlete over credit card fraud

According to inkorr.com: French biathlete Julia Simon is facing serious accusations of improper use of her colleague Justine Brezaz-Bouche's credit card. Hearings in this case are scheduled for October 24 in the city of Albertville, according to the publication 'Glavkom' citing Dauphiné Libéré.

According to the investigation, in August 2022 during the Blink festival in Norway, Julia Simon made online purchases using Brezaz-Bouche's card for amounts ranging from 1000 to 2000 euros, including buying a GoPro sports camera. Moreover, she is accused of another instance of improper use of the card.

In 2023, the biathlete was detained, but was released after a few hours.

Julia herself assures that she is not involved in the case, and the orders were made by scammers in her name. The 28-year-old biathlete is a ten-time world champion and a silver medalist from the 2022 Beijing Olympics in the mixed relay.

Ukrainian athletes at the European Youth Olympic Festival

At the European Youth Olympic Festival, Ukraine easily made it into the top 10 countries in terms of medals, taking 10th place. Our athletes won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

This is the second-best result in the history of Ukraine's performances at the festivals that started in 1993. The largest number of medals was won by the 'blue and yellow' team in 2019, securing 25 medals.

Judo was the most successful sport for Ukraine, where our athletes won 6 awards, including bronze in the mixed team event on the last day of the competition. In addition to judo, representatives of Ukraine also won medals in other sports.

The French biathlete is under investigation for credit card fraud, while Ukrainian athletes have demonstrated outstanding results at the European Youth Olympic Festival, winning 23 medals and taking 10th place in the overall medal standings. We hope these achievements will motivate young Ukrainian athletes to reach new heights.
