Frank Lampard - a potential candidate for the Rangers coach position

According to The Sun: Frank Lampard has become an unexpected contender for the position of coach at Rangers. The Chelsea and England legend is successfully managing Coventry, which is currently leading the Championship and has a chance to return to the Premier League for the first time since 2001.

If he manages to complete this remarkable campaign, his name will be written in the history of the West Midlands. However, despite his success in England, Lampard has once again become a candidate for the position at Rangers - less than two years after he was outpaced by Philip Clement in the race for this position.

This was stated by former Rangers players Ross McCormack and Andy Halliday, who believe that Lampard should be on the list of candidates to replace Russell Martin at Ibrox.

McCormack is convinced that Lampard's records at Coventry testify to his status as one of the most promising coaches in England. He believes that the 46-year-old specialist would gladly agree to lead Rangers, even despite the possibility of coaching in the Premier League with Coventry next season.

“If you could choose one candidate, it would be Lampard, considering who he is,” McCormack said on the 'Open Goal' podcast.
“I believe he would leave Coventry without question if the opportunity arose to move to Rangers.”

Andy Halliday also supports the view that Lampard would be an excellent choice for his home club.

Although Halliday notes that his first choice is former England teammate Steven Gerrard, he is sure that Gerrard “meets the most criteria.”

“I would like to see Gerrard back at the club - even in a short-term role,” Halliday said.
“I think Gerrard is the one who meets the most criteria and is a lower risk.”
