Russia’s Large-Scale Strikes on Ukraine

According to UATV: On July 19, 2023, Ukrainian Army General Mykola Malomuzh revealed that Russia is conducting massive missile attacks on civilian targets across Ukraine, with Kyiv as a primary focus. According to him, Moscow launches 40 or more missiles each night, targeting not only the capital but also cities in central and front-line regions. During the night of July 19, a major assault in the Kyiv region damaged warehouse facilities and destroyed a large logistics hub.

Malomuzh described this as a well-established pattern, stating that 'dictator Putin, the military command, and even the State Duma are essentially demanding continuous strikes on Kyiv.' He characterized these actions as 'a deeply cynical model of terror aimed at creating chaos and suffering, forcing people to demand an end to the war on Russia’s terms.' The general emphasized that Russian forces lack battlefield success, so they attempt to compensate through terror tactics.

'Putin lives in a systemic denial that Ukraine cannot be defeated. Therefore, Kyiv is now his primary target for terror' — Mykola Malomuzh.

He also noted that the dictator seeks to exhaust and overload Ukraine’s air defense system. Malomuzh stressed that only two systems can intercept ballistic missiles, and intercepting Zircon and S-400 missiles is particularly difficult.

Additionally, Malomuzh pointed out that the Kremlin portrays these strikes as 'acts of retaliation' for Ukraine’s successful attacks on Russian facilities. However, he argued, this is in fact mass terror.

'Russia is preparing its population for a prolonged war and mobilization by creating an information backdrop: portraying strikes on Ukraine as proof of 'victory.' But in reality, this is about the deliberate destruction of civilians, presented as a strategic success' — Mykola Malomuzh.

Critical Situation in Ukraine

The situation in Ukraine remains dire, with ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure highlighting the intensity of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Malomuzh’s statements point to the Kremlin’s efforts to use terror as a tool to influence the Ukrainian population and the international community, even as Ukraine continues to defend its territories and people. These developments have raised serious concerns among international partners monitoring the region, potentially shaping future support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression.

Such actions have sparked significant alarm among global allies, who are closely watching the situation and may adjust their backing for Ukraine as it resists Russian aggression.
