Military Situation Analysis in Ukraine

According to Espreso.tv: Oleksandr Musiienko, a military analyst with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, confirms that earlier predictions about an escalation of Russian strikes in the summer are coming true—but the nature of the attacks has turned out to be different than expected. He emphasizes that Russian forces are not currently stockpiling resources for large-scale assaults on energy infrastructure in the fall. According to him,

“The predictions are coming true in the sense that in summer, as you can see, they are intensifying their shelling.”

Massive Strike on Kyiv

On July 19, Russian forces launched a massive strike on Kyiv using ballistic missiles. The attack killed one person and wounded 17 others. Fires broke out in at least five districts of the capital, highlighting the significant destructive impact of the assault.

Musiienko also commented on the current situation, stating:

“Right now, a trend is emerging where they are using everything they possibly can to the maximum.”
This underscores the intensity of the ongoing summer shelling. He added:
“I believe the calculation is to try to break our resistance during the summer.”
These actions show that the bombardments are not only continuing but are becoming more intense, raising serious concerns among both the public and military experts.

These events reflect an escalation in the conflict and a shift in Russian tactical approaches, as they attempt to increase pressure on Ukraine during the summer months. The intensity of the shelling, particularly against civilian targets, raises alarm about public safety and potential damage to infrastructure. It is critical that Ukrainian forces remain prepared for further strikes and adapt their strategies in response to the evolving situation on the front lines.
