Prosecutor General Kostin explained how MP Dmytruk managed to escape from Ukraine.
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin commented on the escape of MP Artem Dmytruk abroad at the forum "Ukraine 2024. Independence". He expressed his outrage at this incident and informed about the measures taken by Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin reported that a criminal case had already been initiated regarding the illegal border crossing. "Investigators, prosecutors, and border service officers are working around the clock," he noted.
Kostin also stated that Dmytruk crossed the border in the area with Transnistrian territory. He expressed his belief that the MP did not do this on his own but had assistance. The prosecutor also reported that they know Dmytruk's whereabouts and called upon him to return to Ukraine for interrogation. In case of non-appearance, the prosecutor's office will apply to the court to choose a preventive measure and declare him wanted for extradition purposes.
Kostin reported that all measures would be taken to return Dmytruk, including international legal methods, if he does not appear voluntarily.
On August 28, it became known that Dmytruk had fled abroad. His whereabouts are known to the legitimate law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
