Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, stated that Ukraine has made significant progress in the Kursk direction on the territory of Russia, but the further development of the situation remains uncertain.

"Only Ukrainians can make the difficult necessary choice, for example, about where to deploy their forces and what type of war is appropriate in this situation," Stoltenberg said.

In the east of Ukraine, Russian troops continue to advance, while Ukrainian troops have invaded the Russian Kursk region. On August 6, the AFU made the largest foreign offensive against Russia since World War II.

Stoltenberg stressed that Ukraine has the right to self-defense, including achieving military objectives on Russian territory.

The NATO Secretary General also emphasized that he does not see an immediate military threat to the alliance countries, but the constant threat of terrorism, cyberattacks, and sabotage still exists.
