Gerwyn Price has withdrawn from the tournament due to illness: What happened to the dart master.
According to The Sun: Gerwyn Price made headlines when he announced his withdrawal from the Hungarian dart tournament due to illness.
The Welsh dart master was supposed to compete against Luke Littler in the quarterfinals in Budapest on Sunday, but withdrew for medical reasons. Littler automatically advanced to the semifinals.
PAThe reasons for the withdrawal are still unclear, but the 40-year-old athlete stated that he felt 'very unwell' before the match.
“I am not sure if it is a 24-hour virus, but that is exactly what I hope it is, that it doesn’t last longer,” he wrote on social media.
“I felt very unwell all Sunday, I hope it will be better today. Thank you all for your support.”
This incident occurred just a few weeks after Price was hospitalized due to a hand injury. He posted a photo showing his hand swollen, commenting: “This is exactly what I didn’t want, back to the hospital.”

Price's withdrawal from the Hungarian tournament robbed him of a chance at a £30,000 prize. He received £6,000 for reaching the quarterfinals, while Littler received £8,000 for automatic semifinals advancement without playing a game.
Littler lost in the semifinals to Danny Noppert 4-7, but humorously commented on his performance, saying: 'Another weekend away, and I made it to the semifinals.'
“I want to thank everyone who supported me in Budapest; now it’s time to go home,” he noted.
Injuries and illness are hindering Gerwyn Price from fully participating in competitions. This highlights the challenges athletes can face, even at the peak of their careers. His fans are hoping for a swift recovery and return to their favorite sport.
