Trump Has Announced Tariffs on Goods from Canada, Mexico, and China

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the introduction of extensive tariff restrictions against his main trading partners. In particular, the new duties will take effect this Saturday on goods from countries that supply fentanyl to the U.S. - Canada, Mexico, and China. Additionally, there are plans to impose extra tariffs on European products, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, metals, and energy carriers.

Trump accused China, Canada, and Mexico of supplying fentanyl to the U.S., which leads to American deaths. The President dismisses fears of rising prices and assures that tariffs lead to success. In particular, rates will be 25% on goods from Canada and Mexico and 10% on Chinese products.

Trump's tariffs have drawn criticism from the European Union. Leaders of other countries are already preparing countermeasures, including Mexico, which has developed several plans depending on the U.S. decision. Canada also promises a 'targeted and decisive' response.

Experts warn that such tariffs could negatively affect the North American economy and lead to rising inflation in the U.S. The automotive sector, closely tied to countries in the region, would particularly suffer. Additionally, Trump's trade policy may worsen relations with Asian partners.
