Ukrainians are watching with interest the exchange rate of the euro, which has been fluctuating for a long time. Recently, the weakening of the hryvnia against the euro has halted, raising questions about the future currency savings of citizens.Yaroslav Zhalilo, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Deputy Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, explained that the value of the euro in Ukraine is determined by a number of factors. Inflation in May, as well as the global flight from the dollar due to the instability of President Donald Trump's policies, have led to the strengthening of the euro, while the dollar remains stable or even decreases. What advice do we have for our citizens? One can speculate on the currency market or invest in precious metals, but it is crucial to buy and sell assets in a timely manner. The euro is currently at its peak, so buying it for savings is not advisable. Keeping a portion of funds in dollars in the long term may be a rational option, but it is also important to diversify investments by having several types of currencies and various types of assets in the portfolio.
