Goal.com apologized to Mudryk for the fake: what the publication wrote about doping.
According to inkorr.com: The British publication Goal.com apologized to footballer Mykhailo Mudryk, who represents Chelsea and the Ukrainian national team. The apology pertains to an article published on September 19 that contained false information about Mudryk's possible transition to athletics and his participation in the 2028 Olympics due to a 'doping ban'.
Mykhailo Mudryk faces a lengthy suspension due to allegations of doping, which were made back in 2024 after a positive test for a prohibited substance. In December, the footballer was temporarily suspended from competitions while awaiting the results of additional tests.
‘We acknowledge that the publication was false and caused harm. We sincerely apologize to Mykhailo Mudryk for the stress and reputational damage. The article has been removed,’ reported Goal.com.
Details of the case are not being disclosed as it is still under investigation. Mykhailo Mudryk assures that he has never used doping and is actively cooperating with the sports club in this process.
Thus, Goal.com acknowledged its mistake and apologized to the Ukrainian footballer, emphasizing that it published inaccurate information about Mudryk's possible transition to athletics due to a doping scandal. Mudryk, for his part, states that he adheres to anti-doping rules and is willing to cooperate in the investigation in all possible ways.
This situation highlights the importance of accuracy in sports news, as incorrect information can seriously damage an athlete’s reputation. Mudryk remains confident in his impeccable reputation and continues to actively fight for justice in this matter.
