Denmark's Presidency in the UN Security Council: The Peace Agreement Cannot Reward the Aggressor and Punish the Victim.

The Danish Permanent Representative to the UN assured that Ukraine is the most interested country in peace in the world
The Permanent Representative of Denmark to the UN, Kristina Markus Lassen, believes that no country in the world desires peace more than Ukraine.
She stated this at a press briefing on the occasion of the beginning of Denmark's March presidency in the UN Security Council, as reported by Ukrinform.
'It is important to note that no one wants peace more than Ukraine,' Lassen emphasized. - 'Therefore, of course, we will do everything possible to support this.'
Commenting on the meeting between Zelensky and Trump at the White House and the summit of European leaders in London, Lassen spoke about ongoing consultations and hopes for a breakthrough in the peace process or cessation of hostilities, stating that consultations are actively ongoing.
According to the diplomat, any agreements must be reached 'on the right terms' and cannot 'reward the aggressor and punish the victim', and should also comply with the UN Charter.
'Of course, we needed to find a solution that would have a clear reference to the UN Charter and respect the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine,' Lassen explained.
The Danish Permanent Representative also noted that the Russian war against Ukraine poses a threat not only to Europe but also to global security.
'And there is no doubt who poses a threat here. The aggressor is President Putin and Russia, which invaded Ukraine, unleashing an illegal aggressive war,' Lassen stated.
The diplomat also noted that many partners from the EU and NATO are genuinely concerned about who will be next in line for potential aggression, and this applies not only to Europe. Therefore, she emphasized the importance of Ukraine and Europe participating in negotiations to end the war and ensure European security.
Lassen stressed that Denmark provides strong support to Ukraine and will do everything possible to strengthen Ukraine's position in negotiations.
