Graham Potter sacked as West Ham manager: who will be his successor.
Graham Potter's dismissal from West Ham
According to The Sun: Graham Potter is no longer at the helm of West Ham. His sacking came despite him conducting training throughout the week.
According to SunSport, Nuno Espirito Santo has reached the final stages of negotiations for the position.
PAThe 1-2 defeat to Crystal Palace marked the team's third consecutive home loss and their fourth in the last five matches of the season.
This prompted the club's management to sack Potter due to the inability to improve the team's standing.
“West Ham United can confirm that head coach Graham Potter has left the club. The results and performances in the second half of last season and at the start of the 2025/26 season do not meet expectations, and the Board believes a change is necessary to improve the club's position in the Premier League as soon as possible,” the club's official statement reads.
Along with Potter, the club has parted ways with his assistant Bruno Saltor, first-team coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, goalkeeping coach Kasper Ankergren, and goalkeeper coach Linus Kandolin.
Potter, who took charge of the team in January, was unable to significantly improve results: in 25 matches, he managed only 6 wins and suffered 14 defeats.
Potter's comments on the club's situation
After the loss to Crystal Palace, Potter called for the team to “stick together.”
“It's tough, the results are not what we want at all. I care for the players and the supporters. We need to stick together and find a solution,” Potter stated.
West Ham supporters expressed dissatisfaction with the club's management before the last match.
The potential return of former coach Slaven Bilic is also being discussed, but currently, the main candidate remains Nuno Espirito Santo.
