EU's Top Diplomat Warns of Three Critical Weeks for Ukraine Amid Humanitarian Crisis.
EU Foreign Policy Chief Warns of Dire Humanitarian Situation in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, has declared a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine, triggered by massive Russian bombardments that have crippled the power grid and caused temperatures to plummet. Speaking at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, she warned that the country faces its three most difficult weeks ahead. This warning comes as Ukraine's civilian infrastructure is systematically targeted during the coldest months of the year.
The attacks have left millions without electricity or heating, creating a severe crisis in Kyiv and frontline regions. Kallas stressed that
“this is a very harsh winter, and Ukrainians are truly suffering,”adding that
“Russia is bombing Ukrainians, trying to bomb and freeze them into submission.”The situation in Ukraine remains critical, with the international community closely monitoring developments.
Kallas's statement underscores the gravity of the humanitarian emergency confronting Ukrainians amid the ongoing armed conflict. Harsh winter conditions and the widespread lack of power are compounding existing hardships, forcing the government and international organizations to urgently seek ways to deliver aid. It also highlights the continued need for international pressure on Russia to halt its aggression and ensure the safety of civilians.
