Russia armed North Korean forces before deployment to the Ukrainian border
The Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine reported that Russia armed North Korean troops before their deployment to the Ukrainian border. According to intelligence, in the last week of October 2024, Russia transferred more than 7,000 soldiers of the North Korean army to areas near Ukraine. The troops were transported using Russia's military transport aircraft.
The intelligence noted that Russia armed North Korean troops with mortars, rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, and anti-tank guided missiles. Additionally, night vision devices, thermal imagers, collimator sights, and binoculars were provided to the North Koreans.
It should be reminded that the training of North Korean troops for war with Ukraine is taking place at five training grounds in the Far East of Russia.
