Here are Graham Potter's statistics with the Hammers...

Games: 25

Wins: 6

Draws: 5

Losses: 14

Goals scored: 30

Goals conceded: 41

Points per game: 0.92

Potter, 50 years old, issued a statement following the announcement of his dismissal.

The former Chelsea and Brighton coach expressed his discomfort regarding the dismissal but acknowledged that the team's results were 'insufficient'.

This season, West Ham has won only one out of six games in all competitions.

The team was eliminated from the Carabao Cup and currently stands in 19th place in the Premier League table.

“I am extremely disappointed to leave West Ham United, especially without the opportunity to reach the goals we set at the beginning of our journey in East London.”
“Nevertheless, I am fully aware that the results up to this point have simply not been sufficient.”

“Firstly, I thank the management for the opportunity to coach the team over the last eight months.”

“It has been an honor and a privilege to lead such a historic club, which holds strong values in football and a passion for the game.”

“I would like to thank all the staff at the club who welcomed me so warmly, and also the players for their constant efforts during my tenure.”

“Lastly, to the fans who supported us on our difficult journey.”

“I wish the club all the best for the future.”
“Thank you and goodbye. Onwards, you Irons!”

This statement was issued by Potter through the League Managers Association.

He has already been replaced by former Nottingham Forest coach Nuno Espírito Santo.

Interestingly, the Portuguese coach is the only person to have beaten Potter this year.

Nuno was dismissed at the City Ground after West Ham's 0-3 loss on August 31.

Potter trained all week in Rush Green and even held a press conference ahead of yesterday's game.

But on Monday, Nuno will already be sitting on the coaching bench at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

A source from SunSport reported that the West Ham officials also discussed the candidacies of Gary O'Neil and Slaven Bilic, but Nuno was chosen as the main candidate.

Each coach dismissal always generates a great echo both in the club and among the fans. West Ham is striving to accelerate the improvement of its results, which is why the appointment of a new coach has become a crucial step. It remains to be seen whether the results will improve quickly with a new coach at the helm.
