Anti-Drone Netting Deployment Begins in Kharkiv Region, Funded by Contractors Upfront.
Kharkiv Region Gets Anti-Drone Netting
According to Novyny.live: Andriy Aleksieiev, head of the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service, has announced the installation of anti-drone nets across the Kharkiv region, with contractors covering the initial costs. Work is already underway even though the official budget allocation process is still ongoing. This region, located in northeastern Ukraine, has faced persistent aerial threats throughout the war.
According to information provided by Aleksieiev on March 20, contractors are financing the work themselves. This was made possible by advance payments made at the end of last year. It is important to note that the Kharkiv region is in a particularly vulnerable position, as Aleksieiev explained:
'The Kharkiv region is surrounded, so to speak, by the enemy on three sides.'
As of today, the installation of the anti-drone nets has already commenced, even though the funding allocation process remains incomplete. This underscores the urgency of the security measures being implemented in the area.
Why These Anti-Drone Nets Matter
Deploying anti-drone nets in the Kharkiv region represents a critical step in strengthening local security, as the area continues to face significant threats from hostile forces. The project is being executed under urgent conditions, highlighting the dire situation on the ground. By relying on contractor financing, authorities can respond more swiftly to emerging security challenges arising from the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine.
