Fans were impressed by his knowledge and analytical skills as he discussed tactics in the studio ahead of his former club Tottenham's match against Villarreal.
Several supporters took to social media to urge non-resident owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe to invite the former Middlesbrough coach to take over at Old Trafford.
“I want Carrick!”
“Would give Carrick a run.”
“Give Carrick a run at it. If he’s good give him a permanent.”
“Why is Carrick doing punditry? He should be at home planning the filthy 4-2-3-1 he’s gonna cook up for us in a few weeks.”
“Carrick such an intelligent and good pundit.”
“Michael Carrick doing punditry for Amazon, bring him to the club.”
This comes against the backdrop of the worst start to a season for United in the Premier League, with two losses in their first four matches.
The team finished last season in the lowest position in history, placing 15th under the Portuguese coach.
However, club executives continue to support the 40-year-old coach as the season has just begun.
Nevertheless, if the club decides to fire him before November 1, he will have to be paid significant compensation.
Amorim could receive £12 million if dismissed before the anniversary of his appointment.
In addition, he will also receive compensation for his coaching staff if Ratcliffe decides to terminate.
Manchester United supporters eagerly await the club's management decision regarding changes to the coaching staff. Meanwhile, the team is trying to prepare for upcoming matches, hoping for improved results and a return to the fight for top positions in the Premier League. The choice of a new coach could significantly impact the team's further development, as well as the fate of Ruben Amorim.
