Heroism of the Ukrainian warrior

According to The Sun: The Ukrainian warrior displayed incredible heroism, destroying 27 Russian soldiers while defending two bridges in the Donetsk region.

Rus spent over seven weeks in a foul-smelling basement, guarding these strategic crossings with only one firearm. His resilience is impressive.

For his bravery, Rus was recommended for the title of Hero of Ukraine.

He was on the front line in Dobrpil, saving the crossings from Russian forces.

He commented on his difficult reality, spending two months in a gloomy basement, under enemy drones.

Drones, like mosquitoes, did not give him peace, constantly scanning the area for targets.

Rus and his comrade Artis were tasked with defending two bridges to prevent the advance of Russian troops in Dobrpil, controlled by the enemy.

The journey to the destination took two days, during which they managed to avoid various dangers.

Having prepared as much supplies as possible, they set off at night.

Upon arrival, they settled in a small hut and waited for the enemy's arrival.

Every day, despite the danger, they fought against the harsh conditions of war.

They could only visit the toilet at dawn or dusk, fearing shelling, and for seven weeks they only cleaned themselves with wet wipes.

“Sometimes I did exercises — squats, push-ups, just to keep from losing my mind,” recalls Rus.

“There was no time to relax, cook or play cards — there was no time for such luxuries.”

“You could take off the helmet — that was a pleasure. The helmet and bulletproof vest were the only rest we could count on.”

The smell of death was repulsive; Rus compares it to “the stench of rotting flesh.”

They planned to stay for 10 days, but the Russian offensive forced them to stay longer.

Under constant attacks, they had to remove protective gear only for a short time.

On the 30th day, Russian troops began to encircle them, and his comrade Artis was wounded as a result of a powerful shelling.

He was forced to leave the place and find a way to a field hospital for treatment, leaving Rus to defend the territory.

Rus continued the fight for another 20 days, surrounded by the corpses of Russian soldiers.

The warrior spent five days in hiding near Dobrpil, fighting against Vladimir Putin's troops.

This happened on the day when at least 30 people were injured as a result of a Russian drone strike on a Ukrainian passenger train.

Emergency services rushed to Shostka in the Sumy region after a “brutal” attack, which caused one of the cars to catch fire and be destroyed.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned this “terrorist” attack as direct aggression against civilians, noting that at the time of the attack, passengers were at the station.

He added that as a result of the attack, 30 people were injured, and emergency services were already working at the scene, providing assistance to the victims.

His bravery demonstrates how tough conditions are on the front lines, but at the same time emphasizes the importance and value of every defender. Events in eastern Ukraine, particularly in Dobrpil, testify to the omnipotence of enemy forces, but also the resilience and courage of Ukrainian warriors who continue to defend their territories amidst relentless attack.
