Thousands of Daily Attacks Batter Kherson Region: Prokudin Identifies the Hottest Frontline Zone.
Kherson Under Siege
According to Novyny.live: The Kherson region is enduring relentless assaults from Russian forces, particularly drone strikes, resulting in heavy casualties among civilians. Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that the area sees roughly a thousand attacks every day.
Among Ukraine's regional capitals, the situation in Kherson is the most dire. Prokudin stated:
“Kherson has the worst situation of any regional center—100 percent. That's about a thousand attacks per day.”
According to the administration, drone strikes across the Kherson region total approximately 5,500 per week. These attacks lead to daily injuries and deaths among civilians.
Deadly Toll of the Strikes
Just two days ago, shelling killed ten people, including one child. On May 2, 2026, Russian forces struck a minibus in Kherson twice in a single day, injuring the driver. Prokudin highlighted the severity of the situation, emphasizing the constant threats faced by residents.
This information underscores the critical security crisis in the region, which demands urgent measures to protect the population. As attacks persist, local civilians face immense life-threatening risks, raising alarm not only at the regional level but also internationally. It is crucial for the relevant authorities to take action to ensure safety and shield the civilian population in the Kherson region.
