Conte on De Bruyne's Reaction: If He Is Unhappy - He Is Not Dealing with the Right Person.
According to The Sun: Kevin De Bruyne received a warning for showing dissatisfaction with his substitution. On Sunday, his team lost to Milan.
Antonio Conte's team suffered their second loss of the season at San Siro, and De Bruyne was once again forced to leave the field early.
TNT SportsDe Bruyne was substituted just 10 minutes after successfully converting a penalty, reducing the deficit to one goal.
Although he spent 70 minutes on the field, his reaction to the substitution left much to be desired.
Conte decided to bring Eljif Elmas into the game instead of De Bruyne, attempting to change the course of the match.
After the match, 34-year-old De Bruyne looked displeased, muttering something under his breath as he headed towards the bench.
At the moment of substitution, last year’s Serie A MVP Scott McTominay and Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund were also removed.
Napoli failed to equalize, and Conte commented on the changes made:
“I was trying to introduce fresh legs, as Milan was defending, and we needed changes. I think these were the right changes at that moment.”
Regarding De Bruyne, he added:
“I hope the result frustrates him, because if something else is bothering him, he is not dealing with the right person.”
De Bruyne has already scored three goals for Napoli following his emotional transfer from Manchester City in the summer.
Napoli currently sits in second place in the league on goal difference, while Milan, having won the match, now leads the table.
