Girl bitten by monkey in Bali: family spent thousands on rabies vaccines.
Unpleasant incident due to monkey bite in Bali
According to The Sun: Australian Flavia Macdonald traveled with her husband and 12-year-old daughter Lorena to Bali to celebrate Father's Day. However, a sudden incident with a monkey changed their vacation. After several rainy days, the family decided to visit a famous monkey park in Ubud.
SuppliedFlavia explained that her daughter wanted to surprise her father by finding some sun after the rains in Sydney. When the family arrived at the park, it was crowded. Lorena panicked when one of the monkeys jumped on her father and then on her shoulders. The monkey started reaching for her shirt and pockets, and while trying to push it away, Flavia was unable to prevent the bite that the monkey inflicted on her daughter's neck.

After the bite, the medics on site did not pay attention to her concerns about rabies, only cleaning the wound. 'They kept saying there was no need to worry,' Flavia noted. The family eventually decided to visit a clinic where they incurred a bill of over 3070 pounds ($6300 AUD) for treatment. Lorena needed four vaccines, one of which was administered directly at the site of the bite.
Currently, there has been an increase in rabies cases in Bali, so tourists are encouraged to get vaccinated before traveling to the island. Flavia hopes that their experience will draw more attention to the risks of visiting such places.
“If I had read something like this, I would have approached visiting the park differently,” she said.

As a result of the incident, the family faced significant difficulties and medical expenses. This situation serves as a reminder of the need to exercise caution when visiting places where interaction with wild animals can be dangerous. Tourists should be aware of the potential risks so that their vacation does not end in trouble. Read also
