According to The Sun: Without a doubt, Wayne Rooney has found himself in trouble multiple times, but we rarely hear about why his wife Coleen often forgives him.

Wayne himself admitted that it was Coleen who saved his life when his drinking became uncontrollable. In an interview with friend Rio Ferdinand, he revealed that at the peak of his career, he could drink '... for two days straight' and tried to hide the smell of alcohol from his teammates with perfume and chewing gum.
