Wayne Rooney on drinking and infidelity: If it weren't for Coleen, I would already be dead.
According to The Sun: Without a doubt, Wayne Rooney has found himself in trouble multiple times, but we rarely hear about why his wife Coleen often forgives him.
GettyWayne himself admitted that it was Coleen who saved his life when his drinking became uncontrollable. In an interview with friend Rio Ferdinand, he revealed that at the peak of his career, he could drink '... for two days straight' and tried to hide the smell of alcohol from his teammates with perfume and chewing gum.
“I genuinely believe that if she wasn't around, I would be dead,”

For Coleen, her husband’s admission was confirmation that he realizes his mistakes and understands the role she plays in his health and happiness. Recently, they have been spending more time together; Wayne follows her one rule – to drink and party only when she is around.
Challenges along the way
Wayne started his professional football career at 16, becoming the youngest Premier League goalscorer. However, his youth was not only successful but also full of scandals and problems, especially with alcohol.
When their son Kai turned one, reports emerged that Rooney had relationships with two sex workers during Coleen's pregnancy. They separated temporarily but reconciled.
Alcohol issues followed him throughout his career, including an arrest for drunk driving. But Coleen always tried to support her husband, even in the toughest moments.
New horizons
In recent years, Wayne has been spending more time with his family, as his coaching career has not delivered the desired results. He has a positive outlook on returning home, as now he can spend more time with his children.
Coleen has also found success in her career, participating in popular projects and regularly appearing on magazine covers.
“If love disappears, then everything is in vain. But if it exists, then you have something to work on,”

Now, as Wayne approaches his 40s, it is clear that their family has become more united. If you asked Wayne himself, he would confirm that without Coleen, his path would have been completely different.
