This parade, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, became an excellent opportunity for Xi to showcase China's military might.
The Authenticity of Chinese Weapons
However, some experts question the reality of the new weaponry and its effectiveness in significant combat operations.
Rob Peters, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, noted: “When China showcases new technologies, we should be somewhat cautious about whether they actually have the best or know how to use it.”
The Chinese military has not been involved in combat since 1979 when it suffered significant losses during the invasion of North Vietnam.
Nuclear Missiles
The parade also featured nuclear missiles capable of being launched from sea, land, and air, marking the first demonstration of the “triad” of nuclear capabilities.

Dr. Alessandro Ardoino, a private security expert from China, noted that the demonstration of nuclear weapons at the event is “a clear message to the US and Europe that they are no longer unreachable.”
Anti-Ship Missiles
China also showcased a range of anti-ship missiles, including the YJ-15 and YJ-20, which can evade interceptors and deliver precise strikes.
