Guardiola on the draw with Arsenal: I don’t care about results.
According to The Sun: Pep Guardiola stated that he doesn’t care about the results after Manchester City’s draw with Arsenal.
Erling Haaland scored again, but City were unable to secure all three points as Gabriel Martinelli equalized in the 90th minute.
Pep Guardiola is pleased with his team’s performance against Arsenal EPA GettyCity presented a weak performance in the second half – something that rarely happens under Guardiola’s management, but despite this, the coach was satisfied with the match.
Guardiola's Positive Mindset
Guardiola spoke about the fighting spirit of his players, assuring that they have regained what they lost last season.
“It’s the body language – how we celebrate, how we communicate, how we try,”
he said at the post-match press conference.
“I said that I don’t care about results; I want to see our spirit in training and for us to enjoy the game.”
“We had to regain that. This week we achieved it. Now we have to continue.”
Emotional Play and New Challenges
Guardiola also admitted that he experienced a lot of emotions during the match at the Emirates, even attempting to kiss the fourth official Craig Pawson.
Currently, his team is in ninth place in the Premier League after a tough start to the season, but they won their Champions League match against Italian champions Napoli on Thursday.
Guardiola believes that his team has improved compared to last season when they had a six-match winless streak that caused him frustration.
Guardiola scratched his face while strongly rubbing it during the draw with Feyenoord last season
This incident occurred when City failed to hold a 3-0 lead at home against Feyenoord, and Guardiola later apologized for joking that his team’s form caused him to hurt himself.
Thus, Manchester City continues to search for their game in the new season, trying to break the negative trend and return to notable results. Despite the tough moments, the team has a real chance to improve their situation in the upcoming matches and maintain competitiveness in the title race.
