A Brit Without a Degree Earns £185,000 a Year in Dubai: A Success Story.
The Success Story of Ross Jenkins
According to The Sun: When Ross Jenkins finished school, his parents told him he would never find a job. But now, at 33 years old, this businessman earns £185,000 a year, chooses his own working hours, and lives in a city where the sun shines all year round.
SuppliedRoss, originally from Kenilworth, shares:
“When I was in school, I had very severe ADHD, and I struggled terribly because I couldn't focus on anything,”he says.
He adds that he left school without any serious grades, only getting a B in technology and sports.
“I didn’t go to university, although I tried college, but it wasn’t for me,”Jenkins explains.
After an internship, he realized he wanted to work for himself, but he knew it would take time. Starting a career in marketing in Coventry, he gained the experience needed to open his own business. After some time freelancing, Ross founded the company DigitalME.
“I thought I could either work my whole life for £30,000 a year or take a leap,”he says about his bold step into entrepreneurship. Ross dared to travel to Barcelona with less than £3,000 in his account.
“I started small, but things were growing, and my client base was expanding,”he shares.
Victory in a New Life
Now Ross lives in Dubai with his fiancée Estefania Pacheco and their three-year-old son.
“I have no intention of going back as life in the Middle East is fantastic,”he emphasizes.
By joining the business in the UAE, Ross earns a tax-free income of around £25,000 a month. He enjoys life in the Middle East as he feels he has more motivation than in the UK.
Jenkins notes that his success did not happen by chance but rather through hard work.
“I worked hard, working 18-20 hours a day,”he shares.
He wants to inspire those who do not plan to go to university to follow their dreams.
“Find what you love and work on it,”he advises the youth.
