Cambridgeshire 2025: Jockey Showmark Reveals Winning Secrets at the Races.
Time for revenge?
According to The Sun: No one knows the horses at the top of the Cambridgeshire market better than jockey Kieran Shoemark.
He's a nice guy, but Kieran Shoemark is not afraid to outsmart old friends in a big stakes race on Saturday at Newmarket. GettyAnd he simply wouldn't be human if he didn't want to compete with his old pals in this big stakes race broadcast live on ITV.
Shoemark rides TREBLE TREE (3.40) for the successful Chrisford brothers team, senior Simon and his son Ed.
"I love this stable. There is something special about it. It really is a good team," he says.
The market shows that the two main rivals for Treble Tee are the horses of John and Teddy Gosden — Fifth Column and Westridge.
Once these horses were Shoemark's friends, but now a real rivalry has developed between them.
Shoemark became a winner when he edged past Westridge in one of the best races of 2024, winning at Windsor in June.
"It was a fantastic performance to get past a stablemate and 2-5 favorite Royal de France by a short head," he adds.
Shoemark is also known for his win alongside Fifth Column when he won at Kempton in April, edging out Mister Rizz.
That happened on April 7, when Shoemark was the main jockey for the Gosden family.
However, just in the first week of May, the Clarehaven team decided to part ways with him after an unfortunate defeat — at the same distance — by Field Gaud in the 2000 Guineas.
And now the rides on Westridge and Fifth Column are worthless!
Now Shoemark has another chance to ride Roly Milly, as he did with Field Gaud in the Craven race, showing extraordinary patience.
Treble Tee showed an excellent result at Goodwood, winning at Doncaster, and he is in good form, carrying a weight of 4 pounds.
The stable nearly won this prize in 2018 with Mordin, and it's another great opportunity.
Treble Tee will drop in the betting, but hopefully he can show a powerful finish.
I believe he has a great chance of winning, but I also want to highlight Mister Winston and Nicola Currie.
Nicola received a great opportunity from Andrew Balding, and Mister Winston was considered a favorite at Goodwood, where Treble Tee participated.
That day Mister Winston shot ahead, as he has been doing lately, but quickly lost strength.
If Currie can hold him, he has a chance to stay better at the distance. He's not a bad horse.
Another contender to watch out for is Greek Order, who was second in the same race and was considered a favorite with odds of 5-2 in 2023.
Following last season, he moved to Bill Mott in the USA and was later gelded.
This season, he returned to Great Britain for Michael Bell and demonstrated an excellent result, finishing fourth in the Royal Cup, with a rating of 95, just like two years ago.
Today he is only at 96, which opens the chance to regain his form.
Juniors in the spotlight
Besides Cambridgeshire, juniors are also showing themselves.
In Group 1 Middle Park Stakes, the youngsters will compete against Wise Approach, who will be the main adversary.
COPPULL (3.00) did not show his best result in France last time, failing to pass 6f, but previously looked good at Goodwood and was third at Greenstone at Royal Ascot, giving him chances.
Perhaps he just started leading too early in Deauville.
The filly equivalent of Middle Park is the Cheveley Park Stakes.
Attention is drawn to Royal Fixation from Ed Walker, who performed well in Lowther at York.
FITZELLA (2.25) could be a decent option to bet on considering her chances of winning.
This exciting filly could not handle the 7f distance in France last time, but has a good history in Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes, where she won, and was fourth in Albany at Royal Ascot.
She has excellent chances.
And finally, the exciting Bow Echo will participate in Group 2 Tattersalls Online Royal Lodge Stakes.
I am really interested in the candidate for betting, Charlie Johnston's ANCIENT EGYPT.
David Egan shines when I talk to him in Lingfield this week about the unbeaten Frankel son, who cost 1,100,000 gns and won well at Goodwood and Beverley. He looks like a strong stayer.
What a prepared day…
