Ikea closes its first store in Scotland
According to The Sun: The Swedish company Ikea has confirmed the closure of its first store, opened in the north of Scotland. The brand is currently looking for a new location for its business.
The Wellington Circle store in Aberdeen opened in May 2016. This was an important event for the residents of the north-eastern region, as they no longer had to travel south to Glasgow or Edinburgh to purchase Ikea products.
“This store has been the first in our history in the north of Scotland, and we thank all our customers for their support,”- said the brand representatives.
Now Ikea plans to find a new location to resume its operations in the region, which will show whether the company can maintain its presence in Scotland, considering the interests of local consumers.
