Hans Flick criticizes the Spain national team over Yamal's injury: scandal details.
Problems of Lamine Yamal before the Champions League match
According to The Sun: Head coach Hansi Flick criticized the Spain national team, noting that Lamine Yamal might not play in the Champions League match between Barcelona and Newcastle on Thursday. The 18-year-old forward has already managed to play 23 matches for the national team, and his coach is concerned that this could lead to overexertion.
Lamine Yamal missed the match due to injury The Barca coach stated they could have better handled the young player's injury during the break
Yamal recently suffered from a groin injury, however, he played in both qualifying matches for the World Cup against Bulgaria and Turkey.
“Lamine is going to the national team in pain, has not trained, and has taken painkillers to play. They were winning in the radio broadcast in every match, and he played 79 and 73 minutes. Between matches, he did not train. This does not care about the players.”
Yamal's health is a concern as he did not participate in Barcelona's training on Saturday for the same reason and missed Sunday's La Liga match against Valencia, which ended with Barca winning 6-0.
The Champions League match in Newcastle
For the Champions League match in Newcastle, both teams hope for a successful start. Eddie Howe believes that his team can replicate their memorable 3-2 success in 1997 in the Champions League, thanks to Faustino Asprilla's hat-trick. This will be the fifth official competition between the clubs and the first since 2003.
