Khelif has filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and is requesting permission to participate in the 2025 Boxing World Championship.

CAS has already dismissed the appeal regarding the suspension of the World Boxing Federation's ban until the case is reviewed.

Therefore, Khelif will not be able to compete in the World Championship, which will take place from September 4 to 15.

The Olympic champion missed the World Cup in boxing this year and has not stepped into the ring since the summer games.

The ban was imposed after a medical report leak that claimed Khelif is a 'biological male.'

She failed a confidential gender test conducted by the International Boxing Association under the auspices of Russia in 2023.

The Olympic committee, which has replaced IBA as the body responsible for boxing at the Olympic Games, warned about these tests and insisted on Khelif's exclusion from the Olympics.

Khelif was allowed to compete in events in Paris due to her status as a woman on her passport.

Initially, Khelif did not comment on these statements in her social media post on Monday, focusing on her role as a UNICEF ambassador – a role she has held since January 2024.

The post featured a photo of Khelif in a blue polo with the organization's logo, where she was making a heart shape with her hands in celebration of 'Global Parents Day.'

The situation around Iman Khelif has drawn significant attention as it raises important questions about gender identity and the right to participate in sports competitions. The court's decision will have implications not only for her personally but also for the future of sports federations in the context of gender policy. Observers believe that the developments could reflect broader trends in sport and society as a whole.
