The import of electric vehicles to Ukraine has doubled: who leads the market.
According to inkorr.com: In August 2025, 9,274 electric vehicles were imported into Ukraine, which is twice as many as in the same period last year, when 4,146 vehicles were imported. This information was released by the State Customs Service.
According to customs statistics, 1,997 electric vehicles were new, while 7,277 were from the secondary market. This indicates a growing interest in affordable used cars as well as new electric vehicles with zero mileage.
Customs value of electric vehicles
The total customs value of electric vehicles imported to Ukraine in August amounted to nearly 8.1 billion hryvnias, compared to 3.8 billion hryvnias in August 2024. The state budget received only 31.9 million hryvnias in customs duties for these vehicles, compared to 12.6 million hryvnias in August 2024.
Discounts on customs duties
The amount of discounts on customs duties for the import of electric vehicles in August this year was over 1.6 billion hryvnias, more than double the figure from last year (0.78 billion hryvnias).
Demand for electric vehicles in Ukraine continues to grow, indicating market development and increased consumer interest in more environmentally friendly types of transport.
This dynamics in the electric vehicle market indicates positive changes in the awareness of Ukrainian drivers, who increasingly choose ecological solutions. The growing number of electric vehicles may lead to improved air quality in cities and reduced dependence on traditional fuels, which is an important step towards sustainable development of transport infrastructure in Ukraine.
