Inauguration of Donald Trump: Schedule of Official Events.
Succession of US Presidents
January 20 will mark the beginning of Donald Trump's presidency. According to the US Constitution, the powers of each president end at 12:00 PM on January 20 of the year following the election. For Trump, this means his swearing-in as head of state.
This day is scheduled to include many ceremonies and official events. Note that due to weather conditions, the main events have been moved from the street to the Capitol building. At 10:00 AM, a preparatory program will begin, including protocol events and a musical program. After that, Presidents Trump and Biden will be sworn in, and Donald Trump will deliver the inaugural address.
After the ceremonies, Trump will go to the White House, where he will review military units at the steps of the Capitol. Due to cold weather, the traditional parade along Pennsylvania Avenue has been moved to the Capital One Arena. The new president will then visit the presidential room for the ceremony to sign his first decrees and appointments in his administration.
On Monday evening, three inaugural balls will be held. The next day, Trump will attend the traditional prayer at the Washington National Cathedral, which will be the concluding event of the inauguration program.
In the first week of his presidency, Trump plans to issue over a hundred decrees and decisions. This will concern immigration policy and various sectors. It is expected that Trump will designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and reinstate the 'Remain in Mexico' Migrant Protection Protocol. There are also plans to increase energy production in the US and reduce expenditures for federal programs.
