Investments in 'green' energy support energy security of Ukraine – CEO of DTEK.
Investments in 'green' energy strengthen the energy security of Ukraine
Investments in 'green' energy strengthen the energy security of Ukraine, making critical infrastructure less vulnerable to attacks. This was stated by DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko in an interview with American CNBC during COP29 in Baku.
The more we invest in renewable energy, the more we protect our future. Renewable energy with its distributed generation model is not only beneficial for the environment, but it is also important for our security.
Timchenko emphasized that thanks to wind and solar power plants, the country is not only addressing the issue of decarbonization but also strengthening energy security, making critical infrastructure less vulnerable to attacks.
The CEO of DTEK stressed that during the full-scale war, the company spent over $1 billion on the development of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, including wind and solar power plants, as well as energy storage systems.
It should be noted that DTEK, owned by Rinat Akhmetov, plans to build a 650 MW wind farm in Poltava.
