Investments in 'green' energy strengthen Ukraine's energy security — DTEK.
Investments in 'green' energy strengthen Ukraine's energy security, reducing the vulnerability of critical infrastructure to Russian attacks.
This statement was made by DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko in an interview with the American TV channel CNBC during the World Economic Forum in Baku, reports ZN.UA.
'The more we invest in renewable energy, the more we protect our future. Renewable energy with its model of distributed generation is not only beneficial for the environment but also for our security,' Timchenko stated.
DTEK's CEO noted that wind and solar power plants help Ukraine not only take a step towards decarbonization but also ensure the country's energy security. This makes critical infrastructure less vulnerable to attacks.
Timchenko added that since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, DTEK has invested over a billion dollars in Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The company has invested in wind and solar power plants, as well as battery systems.
