Birthdate: 12.08.1975

Place of Birth. Education. Born in the settlement of Novoselitschi, Novgorod Oblast (Russia).

In 1997, he graduated with honors from the Donetsk State Management Institute (specializing in 'Management in the Production Sphere'). He continued his studies at the University of Manchester, earning a degree with honors and a Bachelor of Arts in Economic and Social Sciences. Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Career. From 1998 to 2002, he progressed from consultant to Senior Auditor at the international company 'PricewaterhouseCoopers'.

From 2002 to 2005, he was a Senior Manager at SKM CJSC ('System Capital Management'), the management company of the SKM group, controlled by Ukrainian businessman and politician Rinat Akhmetov.

Since July 2005, he has been the CEO of Donbass Fuel and Energy Company (DTEK).

By the end of 2012, DTEK had established a structure that included 13 coal mine administrations (with 31 mines and processing plants), 7 processing plants, 10 power plants, 5 energy suppliers, the oil and gas company DTEK Naftogaz, and the largest wind farm in Ukraine, Botievska Wind Farm (LLC 'Wind Power'). The first section was put into operation in October 2012.

Rankings. In spring 2008, he took 1st place in the ranking 'Top-100. Best Top Managers of Ukraine' by the publisher 'Economy'.

In 2012 and 2013, Maxim Timchenko was twice recognized as the best top manager in the energy sector of Ukraine in this ranking.

In 2013, Maxim Timchenko was one of the TOP-10 winners of the ranking '25 best CEOs' by the magazine 'Forbes Ukraine'.
