According to The Sun: Legendary boxer Irina Sinyatska passed away at the age of 46 on Sunday.

This sad news was confirmed by the Russian Boxing Federation, which published a touching statement.

The statement reads:

“Three-time world champion and five-time European champion Irina Sinyatska was the most successful athlete in women's boxing. Her death is a great loss for the entire boxing family. It is hard and sad to realize that she is no longer with us. Our deepest condolences to Irina Vladimirovna's family and friends. Her memory will stay with us forever.”

The cause of Sinyatska's death has not yet been disclosed at the time of writing this article.

She achieved three world champion titles and five European championships. The legendary athlete also won 11 Russian championships.

Sinyatska is considered one of the pioneers of women's boxing; she participated in the first European Cup for women in 1999.

Initially, she competed in the weight category up to 64 kg but later moved to the weight category up to 81 kg.

Her last victory took place at the European Women's Boxing Championships in 2009.
