Netanyahu warns countries sheltering terrorists: Expel or prosecute.
Statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
According to The Sun: Last night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned countries that harbor terrorists:
“Expel them or bring them to justice.”
This statement came after an unexpected strike on Tuesday against suspected Hamas leaders in Qatar, saying:
“If you don’t, we will.”Prime Secretary Keir Starmer and US President Donald Trump AFP
Reaction to the Attack
Netanyahu also criticized countries that condemn Israel for the dangerous attack on Doha, stating:
“They should be ashamed of themselves.”
He referred to the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, emphasizing that world leaders did not condemn the US for eliminating Osama bin Laden in Pakistan in 2011 after the 9/11 attacks.
His remarks came amidst attacks during which Israel struck a building where, according to reports, Hamas terrorists were located. As a result, six people died, two officials from the organization were injured, one seriously, but it is unclear if Israel managed to kill any of them.
The strike on a US ally involved in peace talks regarding Gaza raised concerns that the conflict could spread across the entire Middle East and threaten the ceasefire.
Prime Secretary Keir Starmer stated that he would convey 'absolutely clear' messages to Israeli President Isaac Herzog,
“that we condemn Israel’s action”in the bombing of Hamas leaders in Qatar.
Starmer emphasized that he would also insist on lifting restrictions on humanitarian aid and called for an end to military actions in Gaza.
US President Donald Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation, noting that
“not thrilled about the whole situation”.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani accused Netanyahu of
“barbarism”and stressed that the country reserves the
“right to respond”to the attack. He also claimed that the US warned them about Israel's raid only ten minutes after it began. In this situation, tensions in the Middle East are escalating. Expressions of intolerance from both sides indicate the seriousness of the situation, which could affect stability in the region. Calls for dialogue and approaches to a peaceful resolution of the conflict remain relevant, as further escalations could have unforeseen consequences.
