Currently, Joshua is searching for a new opponent and is rumored to be willing to fight Jake Paul, as well as receiving a challenge from Joseph Parker.

However, he may once again have the chance to meet his long-time rival Deontay Wilder. Wilder's manager, Shelly Finkel, stated they would like to arrange this fight.

“Our first choice for an opponent would always be (Anthony) Joshua. If we can't get Joshua — if we can get (Oleksandr) Usyk, we will fight him. I believe that a fight with Joshua is the biggest fight for him. And it's the fight – the fight of the last decade, I hope it will be this one. The fight is not as big as it once was, but it's a huge fight. It would sell out any smaller venue, and with a good undercard, it might even fill Wembley.

Joshua and Wilder were once the top heavyweights, but their promoters failed to agree on organizing the fight.

The last unsuccessful attempt took place in 2023 after Joshua's victory over Otto Wallin, which could have led to a fight in Saudi Arabia.

“I am sure from a fan's perspective, they will be more disappointed. For me, I always understand how things go in this business. You never know. This is the elite level of boxing.

Joshua was supposed to meet Wilder for the first time in 2017, but the parties failed to sign a contract. Promoter Eddie Hearn hoped to hold the match in April 2019 at Wembley, but that also did not happen.

Instead, Wilder claimed the title in a famous trilogy with Tyson Fury, becoming part of one of the brightest rivalries in sports.

Wilder's last fight was in June, where he knocked out Tyrell Herndon in the seventh round.

Getty Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder have deep sports ties, so the prospect of their matchup generates significant interest. Both boxers are eager to return to the pinnacle of the heavyweight division, making their potential fight even more relevant. If a deal is reached, it could become one of the most significant boxing matches in recent years.
