Ruben Amorim warned players after victory over Chelsea: what the coach said

According to The Sun: Ruben Amorim made it clear to his players that the victory over Chelsea is just the first step.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro allowed the "Red Devils" to win 2-1. The team capitalized on a lead following the early red card for goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, going 2-0 up.

However, Casemiro also received a red card at the end of the first half. Trevoh Chalobah pulled one back ten minutes before the final whistle, adding tension at the end of the match.

Amorim was pleased with the victory, which relieved some pressure from the team. However, he understands that one win does not mean much if the team does not continue its success.

“Now it's time to create some momentum. We deserved the win, it's just one victory. We need to think about the next one.”

“It's really important because I know what the atmosphere is like around the team and the coach. This game was very significant for us. Three points. We need to create momentum.”

“We must not forget that we are going through tough times. We can lose to Grimsby, but we can also win against any team. This needs to be remembered for next week.”

“Of course, it feels good to win, the atmosphere in the dressing room is worth it. But we forget about that feeling. I prefer another mindset that will encourage us to win again.”

Amorim was last criticized for his unwavering commitment to playing in a 3-4-3 formation. This week, the coach clearly stated that if his bosses want to change anything, they should first fire him.

The coach also joked that his discussions with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe were about a new contract.

“It's not about that. People don’t have many kind words about our team and results. I understand that, just joking.”
“I can't say anything to the critics, they're mostly right. But we won, and that's good news for us.”
